"Roy just helped my wife and I sell our home and we recommend him highly. Our relationship with Roy began 7 years ago when circumstances caused us to move out of our home shortly after the recession of 2008 hit, even though we had only been in the home for a couple years. We were upside down in the house and needed advice that we didn't really want to take to the agent who had helped us buy that home. Several friends of ours had worked with Roy and highly recommended him, so we gave Roy a call. We were so glad we did. He looked up the comps in the area and ran the numbers with us for what it would take to sell the house at that time. We were probably leaning toward selling, even though we understood we would do so at a significant loss, and I thought that he would encourage this since selling would certainly have benefited any agent we chose in the short term. However, Roy recommended against that strategy and advised us to hold on, rent it out, and wait for the economy to rebound. This we did, although we contacted Roy every year or two to ask him to run the numbers again and to ask his opinions on the market. Every time we called, he happily did the research to give us an idea of what the house might sell for now, and gave his opinion about whether the timing was right. While always giving experienced and candid advice, Roy was also always very deferential to what we wanted and whether the timing made sense for our current situation in life (school, jobs, family, etc.). Obviously, he wanted our business when the right time came, but it always felt like it was 100% about what was best for us and for our family--not what was best for him.
Last month, after seven years, the time was finally right to sell the house and he led us through the process as helpfully as we could hope for. Roy is not an amateur at this game--he is not a weekend warrior trying to sell homes in between other projects. This is what he does all day every day and what he has done for many years now. And it shows. Roy had the knowledge and experience to walk us through every part of the process and to answer every question we could conjure up. At the end of the day, our house looked great and sold in two days for well above our asking price and well above what we had ever hoped to get out of it back in 2009 or even in 2015. The only difficulty at that point was choosing between several really solid offers.
As we now prepare to start looking to buy our next home, there is no question in our minds who we will ask to help us through that process. Thanks, Roy!"
